Course Outline for 8th Grade United States History:
Eighth grade United States History is designed as an introductory course for all students. The major topics covered include the American Revolution, the American Constitution, the Civil War, and the United States as an emerging world power through economic and industrial growth to about 1900. The eighth grade American History course is designed to help the individual student acquire a greater understanding and appreciation of our country's heritage, by recognizing the contributions made by people from all social, cultural and economic backgrounds to the growth and development of the American culture.
