This page has been established to connect our students and their families with opportunities available to them, both district-sponsored and within the larger community.  Community event announcements and information relative to athletic and extracurricular events and activities may be posted here.

Any questions about the events posted should be directed to the organization listed on the flyer.

If your organization is interested in posting a flyer on our Community News page, please e-mail a pdf of the flyer you wish to post to Operations Director Stephanie Kessler Email Stephanie Kessler.  We request that any organizations not sponsored by the district include the phrase "not affiliated with Bloomsburg Area School District" on their flyer.  Please allow up to five business days for your flyer to be posted on our web site.  The district reserves the right to deny any request at its discretion.

Pre-K Counts

The Central Susquehanna Intermediate Unit (CSIU) is accepting applications for students ages 3-5 years for its 2025-2026 Pre-K Counts program housed at Memorial Elementary School.  For more information, please visit our flyer.


 

AYSO Region 504 Fall 2025 Registration

  

The American Youth Soccer Organization (AYSO) is accepting student registrations for the Fall 2025 season from May 19 - June 20.  Visit our article.


 

Salvation Army Events

The Salvation Army Bloomsburg Service Center has several events coming up over the summer months, including a softball tournament on June 14 and back-to-school new clothing and shoe giveaways on June 24.  For more information about these events.


 

Bloomsburg Area YMCA Summer Activities for Kids

The Bloomsburg Area YMCA will be holding a Sports of All Sorts program for children ages three through six years, and an Ican Bike program for individuals with disabilities, ages eight years and up.  More information on these programs.

YMCA's 7th & 8th Grade Initiative

The Bloomsburg Area YMCA is offering 7th- and 8th-grade students the opportunity to have a free YMCA summer membership by participating in this program.


 

STEM Camp

Girls who will be in grades six through eight during the 2025-2026 school year are invited to participate in the Central Susquehanna Intermediate Unit's STEM Camp 2025.  For more details about this camp.

Camp GOTR

Camp Girls on the Run (GOTR) is open to rising third, fourth, and fifth-graders and will be taking place during the week of June 23 at W.W. Evans Elementary School.  Read the Article.


 

Teen Center

The For the Cause Teen Center in Bloomsburg opened January 16 and is located at 36 East Main Street in Bloomsburg.  This is a great opportunity for students in grades 7-12, as they can stop by the Teen Center Mondays through Thursdays between 3-7 p.m.  More information about the Teen Center website.

Teen Happenings at the Bloomsburg Area YMCA

The Bloomsburg Area YMCA has teen memberships and a number of events and programs aimed at teens.  More information.


 

S.M.I.L.E. New Friendship Circle

S.M.I.L.E. (Single Mothers, Individually, Living Empowered) will be holding New Friendship Circle meetings on the second Wednesday of each month from 6:30-8:00 p.m. at the See our flyer YMCA.


 

CCDP Program

CCDP offers a before- and after-school program for students in grade K-5.  Details about the program are available.


 

Virtual Tutoring Sessions

United We Learn is offering virtual tutoring sessions to students in grades K-12 in the areas of math, English, science, reading, and history.  Enrollment is free.  Information on how to register is available.

Pavers for Veterans' Memorial of Columbia County

The Veterans' Memorial of Columbia County is selling pavers to be used as the approach plaza for their memorial.  The order form for pavers is available.


 

Weis4School

You could help your child's school earn money whenever you use your Weis Club Card by registering your card at https://weis4school.com/.  The registration form is comprised of four fields: first name, last name, Weis Club Card ID Number, and school.  This program is for elementary and middle schools.  School codes are as follow:
