Bloomsburg Area School District is currently accepting applications for the following positions:
Technology Director
Bloomsburg Area School District is seeking an experienced and visionary Technology Director to lead, manage, and advance the district’s technology initiatives.
Serving approximately 1,600 students in grades K–12, our district is committed to fostering innovation, collaboration, and academic excellence. The Technology Director will oversee all aspects of technology planning, implementation, and instructional technology support, ensuring that our schools are equipped with secure, modern, and effective digital solutions to enhance teaching, learning, and operational efficiency.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead strategic planning for district-wide technology initiatives.
- Oversee implementation and maintenance of instructional and administrative technology systems.
- Support teachers and staff in the effective integration of technology into instruction.
- Ensure robust cybersecurity, data privacy, and network reliability.
- Manage technology budgets, purchasing, and vendor relationships.
- Supervise technology staff and foster a culture of customer service and continuous improvement.
Minimum Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in a related technology field (Master’s degree preferred) or equivalent professional experience in technology management.
- Demonstrated understanding of the technological needs and expectations of a K–12 educational environment.
- Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills.
- Experience in technology planning, implementation, and support.

School Police Officer
Position is up to 7.5 hours per day, 185 days per school year, $25 per hour. Applicants must have successfully completed basic training (Act 120) as required by Municipal Police Officers Education and Training Commission under 53Pa.C.S. Ch. 21 Subch. D. or be a retired PA State Trooper. Applicants with at least three years of SPO experience preferred. Applicants must submit the following documents to Operations Director Stephanie Kessler via e-mail (skessler@bloomsd.k12.pa.us): Support Staff Application (available on district’s web site); resume; Act 34, 114, 126, and 151 clearances (hard copies of clearances are acceptable); PDE-6004 Arrest/Conviction Form; Sexual Misconduct/Abuse Disclosure Release; and MPOETC training certificate or Act 120 certificate.
Anticipated Paraprofessional(s)
Position is 10-month, 5.75 hours per day. Starting hourly rate is $14. Location and assignment TBD. Anticipated Special Education Teacher (Elementary Multiple Disabilities Classroom)
PA Special Education Certification is required.
Anticipated Elementary Teacher
Elementary certification required, Grade 4-8 or PK-6 strongly preferred. Location and assignment TBD.
Both teaching positions are available for the start of the 2025-2026 school year. Crossing Guard
A crossing guard position at Memorial Elementary School is available for start of 2024-2025 school year. Rate of pay is $10.50/hour. This position is directly with the Town of Bloomsburg. Duties will be during the following times each day that school is in session:
– 7:15 – 7:45 a.m.
– 8:30 – 9:00 a.m.
– 2:00 – 2:30 p.m.
– 3:00 – 3:30 p.m.

Professional Substitutes - Without Pennsylvania Teaching Certification
The Central Susquehanna Intermediate Unit (CSIU) has two programs to help non-certificated individuals become certified as professional day-to-day substitutes on a temporary (through the end of the current school year) basis. Individuals who have a bachelor's degree may complete the Guest Teacher Program, and individuals who are attending college to become educators may complete the Education Major Program. Support Staff Substitutes
Paraprofessionals ($14.00/hour), Secretaries ($12.50/hour), Food Service Aides ($12.00/hour), Custodial ($13.50/hour), and Health Aides ($17.00/hour for LPNs and $15.00/hour for CNAs)
