•  Immunization Changes

New requirements began the 2017-2018 school year that ALL students in ALL grades will need to have a fourth polio shot administered after four years of age.   Exclusion of students without proper immunizations (or a documented plan to be brought up to date) will occur after the first 10 school days.  If your child is currently a student and still needs an immunization, you will receive notification from the health office.  In most cases when parents have received this notification, the students have already had the required immunization and we have just not received the updates for their records.  If this is the case, simply contact your physician's office and have them fax the updated immunization record to 570-784-4341.
Students attending 7th grade need the Tdap immunization (if 5 years have elapsed since the last tetanus shot) and meningococcal immunization.
Students entering 12th grade are now required to have a second meningococcal immunization prior to starting their senior year.

Your child may be exempt from immunization for medical, philosophical,  or religious reasons if we receive a signed statement of exemption for his/her file.  If a student is exempt, he/she may be excluded from school if an outbreak occurs.
