    Attendance Procedures - Clarification!

BMS has an automated call system that will notify you that your child is absent.  The automated call system will go out at 10:30 each day.  There is no longer a need to call into the office when your child is absent, but a note from the parent is still required within three (3) days of the absence.  The written excuse can be a note from a physician explaining the illness or a hand-written note from a parent/guardian stating the  reason for the absence.
IF YOU RECEIVE AN ABSENCE CALL IN ERROR, PLEASE NOTIFY THE OFFICE AT 570-784-9100
A maximum of ten (10) days of cumulative lawful absences verified by parental notification  may be permitted during a school year. All absences beyond the ten cumulative days will require an excuse from a physician.  Please note that all absences will be considered unlawful until the school receives a written excuse within three (3) days of the absence.
