• Bloomsburg Memorial PTO Meeting Notes Meeting Date: April 3, 2024

    1. Meeting called to order at 6:03pm
    2. Appreciation
      1. Thank you to everyone who donated snacks for PSSA testing.
      2. Thank you to Cathy Siats for handling the raffles the entire evening at our Dine to Donate at West End.
      3. Thank you to Mary Raskob for organizing our spring Krispy Kreme sale and thanks to all of our volunteers who helped with the cash & carry sale.
    3. The minutes from the March meeting were unanimously approved & are posted.
    4. Officers Reports
      1. President- Michelle Davis
        1. We are coming close to the end of the school year, only a few more events to get through! We are doing very well with our budget!
        2. The Sensory Path/Walk committee has been formed and the first meeting is planned for tomorrow evening. We are excited to get started.
        3. PTO would like to remind teachers to use their $25 event money before the end of the school year.
      2. Treasurer- Angela Gregory
        1. Budget is still looking good. We are currently at $4,816.82 in checking (after Krispy Kreme sale) & $15, 880.07 in savings.
      3. Fundraising Report
        1. Dine to Donate - Michelle Davis

    (1)Dine to Donate was great again this year! Thank you to everyone who came to support us!

    (a)Food sales were up from last year! We made $750.

    (b)Our raffle ticket sales were down this year, however, we still made $545.

    (c) We received a $50 donation! Thank you!!

    (d)Total expenses for this event = $35 ($25 for small game of chance license & $10 for popcorn)

    (e)Total Profit: $1310

        1. Krispy Kreme sale - Mary Raskob

    (1)We had 375 dozen presale orders & 225 dozen more were sold during our cash & carry sale!

    (a)We were sold out by 12:49pm & received $19 in donations!

    (2)Total Profit for Krispy Kreme sale: $3025

    (3)We still have to pay for the 5 Bloomsburg Panther drawstring bags that we ordered for the sellers who had 25+ dozen.

    (a)We had 2 sellers with 25+ & they each will be given a bag.

    (b)We will use the extra 3 bags for future events.

    (c) Voted unanimously to use funds from our ‘other needs’ budget to pay for the bags

    1. Principal’s Report

    (1)Fundraising is one of the biggest parts of what we do! We would not be able to do all the amazing things we do without all of our volunteers & donors during our fundraisers!

    (a)Fundraising total this year: $10, 122.00

    (b)Donation total this year: $281.81

    (c) Total: $10,403.81

    1. Principal’s Report

    (1)Mrs. Nicole Delgatto would like to thank all of our amazing parents who volunteer & donate to help our school.

    1. Unfinished Business
      1. Bike Walk Roll event - Emilee Barton
        1. Emilee was able to register our school for this event online. The website where she registered has many printable flyers, activities, & certificates available so we can have those for the children.
        2. She did talk with Kim who is going to reach out to local police in hopes of getting them involved with this event. We are hoping that they will help cover crosswalks & busier areas.
        3. PTO voted unanimously to donate $50 (taken from leftover Kick Off Event budget) to help cover costs of Applesauce Pouches for this event.

    (1)$120 left from donation from Livic Civil will also be used towards snack costs.

    (2)Applesauce will be given to every student. iv)  We are working on getting helmets to be used for a raffle at First Friday, at school, & for the bike/walk/rollers.

      1. First Friday- Michelle/Courtney/Emilee
        1. We will be having a table outside of Livic Civil, thank you to Livic Civil for allowing us this.
        2. May 3rd
        3. We have $71.09 left in the budget that we could use towards this event. PTO discussed a possible rock painting activity, where children can design rocks that PTO will then place along the BART trail for them to find.
      2. Teacher Appreciation Week - Michele Davis
        1. Bason’s is booked for Thursday, May 9th for the coffee bar.
        2. We still have a large budget left for teacher appreciation ($942.92). PTO voted to extend teacher appreciation to 5 days instead of 3.
      3. PSSA
        1. The link for PSSA donations has been sent out & posted online. ii)      Thank you, once again, to everyone who has donated snacks already!
      4. Balloon arch that was requested for the book fair was done at no expense. Items were donated by Tyra Heeter. Thank you!
      5. Family Engagement Night - Marcia Ball
        1. Family Engagement Night went great! The setup for the table was quick & easy. The kids (& parents) loved the cheese sticks & everyone helped themselves to a sticker as well!
        2. We held a coloring contest for the kids where they were entered to win a Bloomsburg Panther’s water bottle. Their creations are still hanging in our hallway! Great job to all! iii)      Leftover cheese sticks were donated to classrooms & leftover stickers will be used towards future events.
    1. New Business
      1. Science Fair - May 8th
        1. Angela & Terin will be the co-chairs for this event. They have planned a thumbprint science activity to do with the children who attend!
        2. PTO will be purchasing 55 boards for the Science Fair students again this year. Total cost is $68.75
        3. We have $81.25 left in our budget for this event so any supplies needed for the thumbprint activity will come from this.
      2. Kindergarten/5th Grade Graduations
        1. 5th grade water bottles have been ordered. Total: $333
        2. Kindergarten has asked PTO to donate ring pops again for their students. Unanimous vote yes. $25 for 80 @ Dollar Tree
        3. We are looking for volunteers to help set up photo backdrops for graduations.
      3. Game Day - Nicole Delgatto
        1. Field Day/Game Day is scheduled for May 23rd. We are waiting to hear more from Ms. Richardson to see what is needed. We have $150 budgeted for this event.
      4. Budget Lines - Angela Gregory
        1. Current: $205 unforeseen, $100 clothing closet, $90 other needs

    (1)PTO looking into donating needed items for clothing closet, possibly sneakers in any size

      1. Spring Pictures
        1. We have 3 volunteers to help with Spring graduation pictures, thank you!
    1. Announcements
      1. Board positions voting will happen at the May PTO meeting. If no positions are running opposed, no vote will be needed.
