Thank you for your interest in becoming a volunteer in the Bloomsburg Area School District! In order to become an approved volunteer, you will need to submit the following documentation, all of which is available on our web site:
- Pennsylvania State Police Criminal Record Check
- Federal Criminal History Background Check OR Volunteer Affidavit (if applicable)
- Pennsylvania Child Abuse History Clearance
- Mandated Reporter Training Certificate
- Confidentiality Agreement
- BASD Volunteer Acknowledgment and Statement of Confidentiality
- PDE-6004 Arrest/Conviction Form
Please note that all long-term volunteers and overnight chaperones must also complete and submit the BASD Volunteer Application and then be approved by our school board.
Once completed, all documents may be submitted to an administrative assistant in any of our five schools. If you have children attending several buildings in our district, you need only submit your paperwork to one of the buildings. The district maintains a district-wide list of volunteers, which is accessible to administrative assistants in each building.
Please note that you must bring your original clearances with you for verification purposes. For the FBI Clearance, you need only bring your receipt with you, as the registration number will allow us to access and print your official FBI Clearance through the Identogo web site.
As per state mandates, all clearances must be renewed every five years (60 months) and the mandated reporter training must also be renewed every five years. If you are not approved as a volunteer for the district, you will be notified by the district office within 10 business days via letter.
Should you have any questions about the dates of your clearances or mandated reporter training, or about what paperwork you still need to submit, please contact the administrative assistant in your child's building.
